School or college days? Oh gosh just going back to San mateo was exciting after 10 yrs
of not seeing the town,so many change,But when i got back
there is just the right time because it was a first time the
national highshool was having a class reunion seeing everyone
after 10 yrs was exciting,everyone mostly got married,have
their own children,someof them graduate as a teacher and
teaching to the school where they took theire higscool life,It
was fun just had a chance to know what are they doing
now...College di ako gaanong nagtagal pero one thing is
exciting is i found my friend from friendster my college
friend,after 15 yrs na di ko sila nakausap or nakita thanks to
the friendster we got connected again actually just couple of
months ko lang sila na trace coming back there next time is

Ako ay matagal namalagi sa San
Mateo, Rizal. Hanggang ngayon ay malimit kong dinadalaw ang aking
mga kaanak at magulang sa Dulong bayan at Guinayang. Namamalagi ako
ngayon sa Unibersidad ng Pilipinas sa Diliman.
Nagtapos ako ng Elementarya sa SMES (San Mateo Elementary School)
noong 1981. Guro ko sa Grade one si Ms. Antonia Beltran.
Tapos sa DAHS nagtapos ako noong 1984.
Marami nang nagyari at nagbago sa San Mateo, Rizal. Ang dating
payapa at tahimik na bayan ngayon ay puno na ng mga tao at kalakalan.
Ang dating mga bukirin ay puno na ng mga kabahayan.
Marahil palatandaan ito ng pagsulong at pag-unlad ng bayang ito (na
dati ay halos hindi alam ng mga taga Maynila kung saan).
Umaasa ako na ang bayan ng San Mateo ay umulad at sumulong na hindi
kinakalimutan ng mga mamamayan (dayo man o taal na taga rito) nito
ang pagiging taga San Mateo.

Pag dating naman sa swimming, WOW! dati ay Villa Christina lang ang naaalala
ko na masyadong popular at dinadayo ng marami, Aba, ngayon mayroon na tayong
9 WAVES, sikat talaga! Bukid na bukid pa naman ang lugar na iyan dati
papuntang BARBULA- ilog kung saan maraming naglalaba, at kung bakasyon ay
marami ring naliligong mga nagpi-picnic, namamangka habang namimingwit ng
isda, meron din namang nanunulya para magkaroon ng sabaw ang ulam. Bilib
talaga ako, nagtataka lang po ako at bakit hindi tayo nagiging METRO MANILA?

say I spent some of the best years of my life at Dona Aurora High School, I
remember when the school bell rang for breaks and we use to rush to the hall
way to buy sandwich, soda and the all time favorite "flat tops" chocolate..
I have been extremely fortunate to have found some of my dear friends back.
Namely, Vanessa,Karen. Pilarvic, Ireene M., Irene F. Buloy, Keyrat, Chupao,
Topher,Regie, Conz, Renald, Kaka, Jason, Gelito, Jerome, and others that I
have only spoken with on the phone. I have the most amazing, fond, memories
from my time spent at the very best High School in San Mateo, Rizal!!!!!! I
am eagerly awaiting the opportunity of getting back in touch with many other
friends.My favorite teachers were Mr. Aguilar, Mrs. Veridiano, and Mrs.
Jorge (bwahhhhh), and I can't wait to see them again! CLASS OF '97 let's get
together and have a much LONG-AWAITED REUNION!!!!!!!!!!! those were
the days...( smiled..)

School days, I had a lot of sweet and unforgettable experiences at SMMHS.
Specially during the JS prom at my last school year (seniors). One Junior
student (girl) approach me and gave a bucket of rose which caught me in a
surprised. But then that flower which she gaves to me after the event, I
gave it to my teacher in English whom is my crush at that time. That teacher
I'm reffering to happens also had a crush on me as per my friends info. Well
I can't blame her, at that time I knew that somehow though I'm not that
really good looking guy or a celebrity looking guy, I have this kind of
arrive called SEX APPEAL...That's why I got caught to receive a bucket of
flower from one of a lady Juniors...Ehhem no Yabang po yan...he he he. but,
though I had that so-called "arrive", that time, I dont have enough courage
to express my feelings..medyo tyope pa eh, kasi can't afford pang magyaya
nang date kasi nga lack of money tayo eh.

TO CUBAO TO WATCH MOVIES OR JUST STROLL-WINDOW SHOPPING AT ALI MALL, THERE
WERE TIMES THAT WE JUST RENTED A VIDEO AND WATCHED IT AT OUR CLASSMATE'S
HOME. THESE WERE MY SWEET MEMORIES IN HIGH SCHOOL AT COLLEGE, WELL IT WAS
KIND A DIFFERENT WORLD- MORE HARDSHIPS, PEOPLE FROM DIFFERENT PLACES. I
GUESS, I MAY SAY MEETING DIFFERENT STUDENTS THROUGH CITIZEN MILITARY
TRAINING FROM DIFFERENT COLLEGES WAS A NICE EXPERINCE. AND SPENDING 40 DAYS
WITH THEM IN THE SUMMER CAMP "DAMAYAN '86" FORT BONIFACIO. THAT WAS AN
UNFORGETABLE EXPERINCE FOR ME.

SEE THE DIFFERENT HIGHLIGHTS OF THE CELEBRATION. MY DAUGHTER WAS EVEN
SUPPRISED TO KNOW THAT WHERE HER MOM USED TO LIVE THERE WAS AN EXISTING

Sweetest memories or most unforgettable experience during High
School or college days? When I attended our Senior's night and my crush walk me back home. That
memory is with me until now. And by the way thay guy is the long time crush
of my big sister. My big sister is so shocked when she found out that her
crush is with me that night. One of my super crush since elementary is with
the same campus and I am always looking outside his classroom wishing he
will come out. Unfortunately that 4 year of highschool I was not able to be
his classmate. How sad. But I am satisfied that I still can see him from a
far.

days? Highschool and that is the first time I went to Guidance Counselor's office.
I slap one of my classmate (girl) because of some misunderstanding.

am having a wonderful feeling everytime I join the procession. It's the
ceremony every holy week which their are people who light some candle and

not born in San Mateo, I was raised there as a child. I have spent the
twenty seven years of my life there. I will never forget the people of San
Mateo, who are well-known for their kindness. They are friendly and helpful.
Ofcourse everyone has it flaws, but San Mateo will always special, lalo na
ang mga kakanin na kutsinta at sapin-sapin. San Mateo,a suburban area has a
low crime rate, and is peaceful compare to other suburban areas. Growing up
in it, it is quite difficult to state which is my most unforgettable
experience there, because they are so many!

our high School) with the guidance of Mr. Pagtama, our Practical Arts
teacher and enjoy harvesting our produce by January to March. The most
memorable ones are our practice of placing raw tomatoes underground and the
joy of finding them ripe after a few days.

college days? I really can not remember any. Trully the happiest days are in the high

The Best and unforgettable experience in San Mateo is during
election...Kakatuwa kasi ang bolahan ng mga politiko kapag nangangampanya...very
persuasive, itanong mo kung sino ang kinakamayan nila maya maya lang
nakalimutan na nila. Hayaan mo kung naka upo na, di ka na kilala...hahaha!!!!
but i salute those who really work hard to improve San Mateo, in fairness,
ang ganda ng San Mateo Municipal Hall ( mala SM mall Huh!, ang ganda na ng
daan (kaya lang traffic pa rin daw). Last time na umuwi ako for 4 days visit
last February pumangit na ang plaza, nung unang pagawa nyan (super ganda).
Ang San Mateo Elementary School (ang aking elementary school) maganda na (sana
nag improve na rin ang turo huh). Miss kona mga teachers ko na talagang
marami akong natutuhan lalo na si Mrs. Zinampan ang aking adviser sa 6-1, si
Mrs. Lim ang teacher ko sa Science, aber binigyan ako ng 96, aba dream
grades ko yun, Si Mrs. Lilian Diaz na tinuwid ang dila ko at ininspira akong
matuto ng English...kung darating ang panahon, sana mapasalamatan ko sila
bawat isa sa inspirasyon ibinahagi nila.

Elementary and High School But the best ang mga Tao na kinabibilangan ng
kumunidad na ito...ang mga tao ang minahal sa San Mateo, Kinapupuri puri...di

saddest memories are: when the periodical test is going closer co'z that's
the other time to take it serious, of course wehn my teachers get mad at me,

What's your
sweetest memories or most unforgettable experience during High School and
college days? The most memorable by far... What else could it be but our
very own graduation day!!! (batch '88) just imagine after all our heavy
rehearsals and practices, we ended up staging our commencement exercise
inside the Nuestra Senora de Aranzazu church, it was because of the
unexpected heavy storm that prompted the school management to transfer
venue. We were wet all throughout the ceremony, most of our lady batchmates
were all made-up, i could still recall how dissapointed we were as well as
our parents who attended, but then as a whole it was fine,... a classic year
that was. On the lighter side, High school life brings a lot of precious and
priceless memories of our youth. Friends, teachers, songs of the eighties,
petty quarrels,those puberty stuffs, parties, problems in paying tuition
fees, crammings, reviews, hundreds of class exams to be passed, meeting
deadlines for projects, the excitement in the pronouncement of who made it
and who were not eligible to graduate that year, and a lot more that were
instrumentals into molding us to what we had become today. I'm just
wondering if most of my contemporaries are still around, some may have
passed away without us knowing who among them, but i hope most of them are
still very much alive and kicking just like me. Hope to hear from them, and
maybe see them by chance or in some future events, Wherever they are, i just
wish them the best of everything
Can you share
to us your most unforgettable experience in San Mateo. I have spent half of my life in san mateo, my younger years
up to the time i graduated in college and got my first job. I may be away
for sometime now, but most of my family and loved ones are still there. It's
good to know that San mateo is soaring high. Hope to see more progress as it
is happening today. Godspeed to all who are in authority, may they be of
help and instrument in uplifting the lives of all san mateans. |

an honor student also on his batch. I missed him.........really.And one of
the saddness when i got married to church (nuestra zenora de
aranzazu)wedding but doesnt worked out whose my first boyfiend.After that i
taransfer to montalban and i stayed for 6yrs.

hehehe. Maganda pama2lakad ngayon ni Mayor Diaz, sna ma-reach din
ntin n tulad ng M'kina. Pero alam mo msrap buhay dati, n malaya kang
nka2pag-saranggola s nkpalawak n rice-field, pero ngayon puros Subd
na. Na-miss ko rin yung outdoor party dati, pero ngayon wla n
cgurong ga2wa non at delikado n buhay ngayon, baka ma2ya nyan habang
nagpa-party ka, eh hagisan k n lang ng granada. Madalas kc
nagmu2ni-muni n lang ako, esp d2 s Saudi n trabaho lang ipinunta
nmin d2, d tulad dyan s S'pore, although nkpag-S'pore n rin ako, way
back 1995-1997. Msaya dyan 'tol, wla lang kc akong maipon dyan kya
balik Saudi...he3.

Cool
site.
Naalala ko tuloy yung kabataan ko. Wala pang cover yung plaza. Yung
Dona old-skool looks pa. 2 pa bridge sa Banaba pero giba yung isa.
Yung Nuestra 2 palapag pa lang, at ang munisipyo, primitibo hehehe...
as in... Roxas era, yung simbahan di pa ganong kagandahan at pwede
ko pang akyatin yung tore na umuuga at lumalangitngit ang hagdang
kahoy habang pumapanhik kami. Wala pang Max's, Jollibee, McDo, Viva
City ba yon? Walang traffic sa ampid, bukid pa yung mercury drug,
wala pang grocery sa balante. Nasan na si "Ngiti"?, sa tapat ng
Jollibee, yung official fotog ng Dona at other schools hahaha...
yung Jollibee dating imbakan ng yelo ni ngiti, yelong balot sa
ipa ng palay.
Yung
sikat na tindahan ni Victoria na naging Max's, saka yung kainan ni
Patchie na ngayon ay digitel na yata o SSS...hahaha. Well at least
as years goes by, masasabi kong malaki na ang naging progreso ng
bayan kong kinalakihan. Specially the bridge linking Santayo & QC.
Imagine, 16 years pa lang akong wala sa Santayo pero laki na ng
pinagbago. Ilan lang ang di naiba... yung mga patok pa ring Jeep (:
at yung ga-pagong na dmtc buses.
Those were the days... Sarap mag-reminisce.

were residents then of Baguio City, one of the hardest hit by the
earthquake. San Mateo became our beloved hometown, although Baguio City

School and college days? Marami but i don't have to mention it kasi
para sa akin mas mahalagang bilangin mo ang mga magagandang blessing na
dumarating sa buhay natin, saddest and worst experience bahagi yan ng
paglago ng buhay natin kaya we have to learn from those experiences and try
to move on.....for me bahagi na lang yun ng mga alaala ng nakaraan ko na
i'll make sure nakatulong sa akin kung ano ako ngayon....(madrama ba
hehehehe) past is past what is important is the present and future....naks....!!!

Rizal? San Mateo for me is one of the best town in Rizal in terms
of unity, peace and order kaya lang super traffic lalo na sa area ng AMPID
as in pati na rin sa Guitnangbayan sa area ng palengke....(kung bakit ba
naman sa tabi ng national road itayo ang palengke) but the rest ok na.....matagal
na rin kasi akong di nakakauwi sa San MAteo minsan lang simula ng mag aral
ako ng college....pati na rin siguro yung mga drainage system natin medyo di
maganda ang construction....sa mga pinuno natin maliit lang ang bayan natin
kung tutuusin kung magtutulong tulong po tayo kaya natin higitan ang mga
bayan or even city na nakapaligid sa atin.....likas tayong masipag, matalino,
madiskarte, maabilidad....i hope gamitin natin yun sa tamang paraan....i
don't believe that people and officials of San Mateo government is corrupt
nakilala ang bayan natin na may malaking takot sa DIYOS thats why I know
that we are blessed with leaders and residents na may pagmamahal,
pagmamalasakit, matapat sa bayan higit sa lahat sa DIYOS, makakalikasan, at
lalong MAKADIYOS! GO! GO! GO! SAN MATEO....ITS NOW TIME TO PROVE TO THEM
THAT SAN MATEO IS A PROGRESSIVE AND FAST GROWING TOWN IN RIZAL! SOON WE WILL

Marami na rin ang mga pagbabago at pag-usad ang nasaksihan
ko mula nang lumipat kami dito sa San Mateo nung mga October 1996. Ilan dito
ay ang pagdami ng mga subdivision, business establishments, schools, at iba
pa. Ngunit, para sa akin, at sa aking obserbasyon, masyado pa itong mabagal.
Sa dumadaming mga taga-San Mateo, panahon na para sa tulong-tulong na
pagkilos tungo sa mabilis na pag-unlad ng San Mateo. Panahon na rin, para sa
akin, na maging lungsod ang ating bayan. Ako kasi ay ipinanganak sa Quezon
City, kaya mulat ako sa kaunlaran ng isang lungsod at mga nagtatayugang
gusali. Isa pa sa naging aking inspirasyon ay ang Marikina City na dati rin
naman ay isang bayan at kabilang pa sa lalawigan ng Rizal. Sa mabilis na
panahon, sila ay umunlad na may disiplina sa mga sarili na gaya ng alam
natin ngayon. Ano ba naman ang maging katabi ng Quezon City, Antipolo City,
at Marikina City na napakabilis at patuloy na umuunlad sa kasalukuyan, kung
hindi pa rin tayo maging isang lungsod?!
Sa katunayan ay napakaganda ng
ating lokasyon kung heyograpiya ang pag-uusapan, dahil isang sakay lamang ay
nasa Cubao ka na, at Philcoa, na mabilis na access sa iba pang bahagi ng
Metro Manila. Kaya dapat ay mabilis din na maisulong ang pagiging lungsod ng
San Mateo. Isa ito sa aking mga pangarap dahil sa mahal ko ang San Mateo na
kinalakhan ko. Dito kasi ay napakatahimik, masaya, at malapit sa kalikasan (sa
kabundukan). Sana ay maging little Baguio ang bundok ng San Mateo ngunit
dapat ay panatilihin ang magandang kapaligiran. Hiling ko rin na may
maitayong SM mall, o iba pang malls, at iba pang pasyalan dito sa atin upang
hindi na tayo lumayo pa sa pamamasyal at hindi na maging pasikip sa Metro
Manila. Dahil dito ay kailangan na ng mga road-widening projects lalo na ang
main road natin na Gen. Luna Road, dahil sa ngayon pa lamang ay napakasikip
na ng trapiko lalo na sa may Ampid at Guitnangbayan. Maaari rin na magdagdag
pa ng mga bagong kalsada para naman sa mas malawak na pagpipilian at
paglalakbay o paglilibot sa San Mateo. Isa na dito ang kasalukuyang paggawa
sa C-6 na dadaan sa bundok ng San Mateo kung saan marami ang maaaring
magtayo ng mga establisyemento sa tabi nito. Bantayan natin itong mabuti
dahil maraming magbubukas na oportunidad sa proyekto na ito... Kaagapay nito
ay ang pagtatayo ng mga karagdagang paaralan at pamantasan dahil sa dumadami
ngang populasyon sa atin. Mga bago at magagandang resorts (sa mountain at sa
plains) ay mainam din na mas makakahatak pa sa mas maraming turista papunta
rito. Ang kalinisan ay dapat ding pairalin sa kapaligiran ng San Mateo. Mabuti ang isang lungsod na malinis at may disiplina. Makakatulong sa mga
ito ang paggawa at pagpapatupad ng mga mahihigpit na batas na kailangan
nating irespeto at sundin. Higit sa lahat ay dapat na panatilihin at mas pa-engrandehin
ang mga pyesta at mga pagdiriwang ng mga barangay at ng mismong San Mateo.
Maganda kasing maging tatak din ang San Mateo pagdating sa mga ganito lalo
na sa relihiyon at simbahan gaya ng ngayon ay dambana na ng Nuestra Senora
de Aranzazu, upang hindi tayo malayo sa Panginoon sa kabila ng pag-unlad. Sa
madaling salita, isang matinding overhaul ang kailangan sa San Mateo. Ilan
pa nga lang ito sa mga gusto kong mangyari sa San Mateo, mas hahaba pa itong
salaysay kung ilalagay ko pati ang mga specific na hiling ko para sa San
Mateo. Sa tingin ko ay kayang-kaya natin gawin ito sa lalong madaling
panahon kung magtutulungan lamang at ang pamahalaan ng San Mateo ay maging
bukas para dito at huwag na ang paggawa ng katiwalian dahil para rin naman
ito sa kapakanan ng mga taga-San Mateo. Nawa'y maging magandang bukana rin
ang San Mateo sa lalawigan ng Rizal tulad ng sa Cainta at Taytay na ngayon
ay umuungos din sa kaunlaran. Hindi pa huli ang lahat... At kapag
naisakatuparan na ang mga ito, ito lamang ang magiging mga hinding-hindi ko
makakalimutan na pangyayari sa San Mateo. Mabuhay tayong mga taga-San
Mateo!!! |
